Artist Statement:
The year I was born, Dolly Parton tumbled out of bed and stumbled to the kitchen to pour herself a cup of ambition in her very famous song, “9 to 5”. The song got both Oscar and Grammy nods.
40 or so years later, I watched her sing rock and roll at halftime on Thanksgiving at the Cowboy’s game and she was still just as wonderful. I mean, the only thing better than Dolly is Dolly alongside the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders wearing the same outfit.
She is the queen of country. She wrote “I Will Always Love You” and 3,000 more songs. She is in both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She has her own theme park. Sweeter than her own line of baking products and syrup, this VIP is hard not to love. And I hear she is expanding the food line. Hopefully It will include a breakfast cereal.
